Monthly membership meetings are the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Labor Temple Lounge at 2233 Birch Street, Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Agenda items posted on 1914 bulletin boards. Meetings are no smoking and free parking. Attend to bring concerns forward, gain insight into how your union is run. Our next membership meeting is December 21, 2011. Agenda: general.
Decision-making power in Local 1914 rests with its members. Major policy and budget decisions are made at monthly membership meetings. Members who attend meetings even on a semi-regular basis find it easier to understand what's going on and participate in discussion and debate.
Meetings are a chance to informally talk to stewards and officers about how the Union functions. Monthly meetings allow members to elect Local 1914 officers and delegates to bargaining and educational conferences, and state, local and national union meetings.

Local 1914 Wisconsin State Employees Union approved the 2011 budget at the December membership meeting. Your monthly membership dues are the single revenue source for Local 1914. Contact a Local 1914 officer or executive board member to request a green membership card if you have not already signed one. Keep your address updated with Local 1914 treasurer to not miss important membership information mailed to your home.
Administrative Support Members hired after October 5, 2001, pay monthly membership dues. However, if you have not signed the green membership card, you are not eligible to vote. The administrative support bargaining unit is the largest bargaining unit of state employees and continues to bring increased strength to the bargaining table. Contact an officer or executive board member for a green membership card so you can vote on future agreements when formally presented to the Membership.
As a dues paying member, your contract rights are protected. That protection has a long history in Wisconsin.
Attend the next meeting and support your Union. Local meetings are smoke free and parking fee free.
